My mother lived in Oakland on Bouquet Street and watched them build the Cathedral of Learning in the 1920s. She attended Bellefield Girls’ Vocational on Fifth Avenue and dropped out in the 10th grade to pursue her sewing career. She dreamed that when she had children they would attend Pitt. Who would have thought after 100 years, her only son at the age of 77 in 2026 fulfilled that dream by working with the Pitt movers as a temporary CDL truck driver. Thank you Nina Matheson and Marsha Cuda for hiring me.
