Richard Sedory

In 1925, my grandfather gave ten cents to help fund the construction of the Cathedral of Learning. Somehow, my parents had the foresight to preserve the certificate documenting his donation and admittance to the "Fellowship of Builders." As a current University of Pittsburgh Trustee and two-degree alumnus, I am proud to keep this certificate in my office as a continuing reminder of his vision and commitment to the University, of the role the Cathedral plays in our lives (see the "4 Chances" described in my father’s certificate), and of the fact that we can all make a difference, no matter the size or scope of our contribution.
