My dad was a mechanical engineering student, commuting from Coraopolis in 1940, at the age of 16. He spent a lot of time in the Cathedral between classes. He had to be very frugal. Even going home for dinner, before returning to the Cathedral to study. When I enrolled at Pitt he took me on a tour of the Cathedral lower floor and showed me secret passages! When my son committed to the Pitt School of Law I was able to share that experience with him.
