The Cathedral of Learning has played a huge part throughout the stages of my life. As a tiny child my grandmother would tell me stories of the beautiful building that she used to work in. She worked as a custodian in the building before I was born. When I was in sixth grade, my elementary school took our class on a field trip to the Cathedral of Learning. We were given a tour of the nationality rooms. As a young mother, I told my children the stories their great grandmother told me and then took both children to see the nationality rooms. In my late 40s, I had the opportunity to have classes in the majestic building. I went to the University of Pittsburgh for my Master of Social Work degree and had all but two of my classes in the Cathedral of Learning. Every time I see the beautiful building, it stirs memories of my lifetime. A glimpse brings a smile to my face and to my heart.
