The Commons Room will always hold a special place in my heart. Lantern Night was held there my first year and it became my favorite place to study under the watchful eye of Bernie, the security guard. It featured so many special events including the Alumni Council Children's Holiday party and the Slovak Festival. Today, it still feels like a sacred and magical place to me. My heart smiles when I think of the inscription on the iron gates: "Here is eternal spring; for you the very stars of heaven are new."
