Jim Kane

The year was 1983 and I was starting my master’s degree in Communication. As I was walking up the steps of the 11th floor of the Cathedral I saw a friend at the top of the steps. Next to him was a friend of his. She was working on her PhD in Communication Science and Disorders. At that time her program and mine were both located on the 11th floor. We became friends, and a year later we were dating. We got married in 1986 and both of our daughters subsequently went to Pitt. When I walked those steps in 2026 all those memories come flooding back to me.
