In the Fall of 1977, as a doctoral student and teaching assistant in the Department of Communication, I taught a public speaking class in the Cathedral of Learning's Yugoslav Nationality Room. I was impressed that even lowly teaching assistants were able to hold classes in such an august environment. During the following two years, I taught classes in the English and French Nationality Rooms, too, cementing my commitment to Pitt as a distinctly wonderful educational institution. Go Panthers!
