My world language classes were almost exclusively offered in the Cathedral of Learning. Not only was my very first class there, I met lifelong friends. However, also in that first class, I also received a flyer about a study abroad program through the University Center for International Studies and the Center for Latin American Studies (CLAS). It sparked my interest in studying abroad. I was accepted on that trip to Xalapa, Mexico, and the trip made lasting impacts on my life and career. By my last year at Pitt, I was a student ambassador for CLAS to help promote and answer questions about their programs. It all started with a flyer from a Spanish class in one of the Nationality Rooms.
