I was a cadet in the Air Force Reserve Officer Training Corps (AFROTC) in 2006-08, and I vividly remember trying to be in charge of reveille when the flagpole was frozen just outside of the Cathedral. I literally would try to use my weight and hang from the rope to get the pulley to budge to no avail. Oh, how embarrassing it was to have the whole wing watch this display of comedy.
